Earth Friendly Holiday Greetings

Last year we started a new earth-friendly Christmas greeting tradition by switching to email for our holiday wishes and foregoing the paper and reducing our footprint.

Once again, in lieu of traditional Christmas card we have made a few donations to help benefit those who need it most.

This season we have donated to:

Merry Month of Meals - A local initiative where businesses purchased meal boxes to be delivered to families in need in our community.  Each box provides one month of meals for a family.

100 People Who Care - Elgin St. Thomas Community Foundation - We were pleased to be among the '100 People who Care' members this year.  Shortlisted local charities made presentations to the members (virtually) at the December granting event to pitch what they would do with the collective $10,000 donation.  Each member placed their vote.  The recipient this year is the YWCA St. Thomas Elgin Youth Independence Program, a well deserving cause providing support and education to at-risk youth.  A great initiative and a pleasure to take part in.

East Elgin Housing Initiative and Emergency Shelter - We have made a donation towards the support of shelter guests who have fallen on hard times.  This initiative provides not only emergency shelter and essentials, but also support to help those in need get back on their feet helping with employment seeking efforts, securing affordable housing and sourcing necessities required to become independent.

Staff gift exchange - In addition to donations as a business, in lieu of exchanging gifts with each other this year as a staff we decided to to each buy for local teens in need instead.  Our gifts have been donated to Christmas Care for Teens which coordinates gift giving to local teens in need from ages 15-18.  This is a wonderful outreach program making a difference for local youth each Christmas.  Thank you Stacie and Sally for this wonderful suggestion this year.

It is our hope these donations will make a difference to someone who is struggling this winter.

Wishing you health, happiness and many blessings in the New Year.  Thank you for your business in 2020.
